The Google I/O 2023 event is fast approaching, and with it comes the opportunity to learn about Google's latest technology and products! Here’s what to look forward to.

Google I/O is one of the most anticipated events in the tech industry, and this year's event is no exception. As Google Cloud Premier Partners, we’re excited to share our thoughts about why we're all excited about Google I/O 2023, held on May 10th online. You can register for the event here. What’s more, all keynote sessions will be available for on-demand consumption once aired.

What is it?

Firstly, Google I/O is a platform for Google to showcase its latest technology and products. Every year, the company unveils new products, software updates, and services that help users achieve their goals with more ease and convenience. Google I/O provides developers, tech enthusiasts, and consumers with a glimpse into the future of technology. Catch the Google Keynote for all the announcements.

The event is an excellent opportunity for developers to learn about new APIs and tools that Google has released. Developers can use these tools to create more innovative and user-friendly applications for Android devices, Google Assistant, Google Maps, and other Google services. These updates are crucial for developers to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and to deliver top-notch products to their users. The Developers Keynote is one not to be missed for these updates.

Additionally, Google I/O is a great platform for learning. Google hosts various sessions, workshops, and codelabs that teach attendees how to use the latest technologies, products, and services effectively. These sessions are conducted by experts with in-depth knowledge of Google's products and can provide insights that are not easily available elsewhere. For a full list of workshops, click here.

Here’s what we’re looking forward to:

Besides the two keynote sessions, we’re looking forward to a number of other sessions including but not limited to:

What's new in Google Cloud (beginner)

According to Google, this cloud keynote will showcase all the innovations across generative AI and other areas that help you develop faster and more efficiently in the cloud.

What's new in Generative AI (beginner)

Google I/O will introduce new tools and APIs that allow developers to build on top of Google's best Large Language Models, which can comprehend and generate natural language with unprecedented nuance and fluidity. This event is eagerly anticipated due to its potential to showcase the latest technology, provide opportunities for collaboration and learning, and offer a fun and exciting environment. We’re looking forward to the announcements and updates Google has in store!

What's new in machine learning (beginner)

Machine learning continues to grow and thrive, and new innovations for developers emerge on an almost daily basis. In this keynote, you'll discover the latest innovations within Google's machine learning ecosystem to help you navigate technology to bring ML to any device, website, or app.

Build no-code, AI-powered apps for Google Workspace (intermediate)

AppSheet is Google’s platform for building no-code custom apps and workflows to automate business processes. It lets app creators build and deploy end-to-end apps and automation for Google Workspace without writing code. In this session, you’ll learn about the new no-code Chat app builder and how to use it to build Chat apps in 5 minutes or less. You'll also explore the new AppSheet databases, a built-in database that enables developers to easily and securely manage app data.

Learn how to audit your code to look for third-party cookies and what action you can take to ensure you're all set for the end of third-party cookies.

Applied ML with KerasCV and KerasNLP (intermediate)

KerasCV and KerasNLP are easy-to-use libraries for state-of-the-art computer vision and natural language processing. With just a few lines of code you’ll employ the latest techniques and models for data augmentation, object detection, image and text generation, and text classification. Google will also demonstrate integration with the broader TensorFlow ecosystem including TFLite, TPUs, and DTensor.

Boost your conversational experiences with Generative AI (intermediate)

Looking to build an interactive, AI-driven customer experience? In this session you'll learn about Google Cloud's next generation of conversational experiences that use generative AI in Gen App Builder to help you turn large volumes of data into easy-to-access human-like answers. Deliver more natural omnichannel customer experiences with virtual agents that are built with the same deep learning technologies that power Google Assistant.

Scaling large language models in the cloud (intermediate)

So you’ve learned how to prototype with Large Language Models (LLMs), but what’s next? Supercharge your generative AI dev skills in this session where you’ll learn common use cases for LLMs and how to integrate them into your apps using Google Cloud Vertex AI.
